This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to Gov Makinde On Education Intervention, Honourable Oloye Suraj Abiodun Tiamy during a radio interview in Ibadan, challenging whoever has evidence of such amount being paid in any state should bring it forth.
Tiamy clarified that the training is a World Bank program under BESDA which stands for 'Better Education Service Delivery for All' is World Bank-supported initiative in Nigeria aimed at addressing challenges in basic education of three states of Oyo, Adamawa and Katsina.
Its main objectives are to increase access to education for out-of-school children, improve literacy rates in targeted states, and strengthen accountability for results in the education system. The program focuses on specific high-need states and includes components like improving school infrastructure, teacher quality, and community engagement.
He cautioned Teachers and Educators across the state to be vigilant against misinformation, stressing that the other two states of Adamawa and Katsina are yet to conclude their trainings as the payment always comes after the training.
Hon Tiamy emphasized that all official information is communicated through recognised and credible channels and encouraged all teachers to verify any information before passing it on.
He reaffirmed that the Oyo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, remains fully committed to the welfare of teachers and will continue to uphold transparency and due process in all matters.
Tiamy also urged members of the public to assist in disseminating accurate information, noting that protecting teachers and other education stakeholders from misinformation is a collective responsibility.
END.
