The inspection exercise was aimed at assessing the state of environmental sanitation across Eti-Osa and ensuring compliance with proper waste management practices.
Speaking to Market Men/Women and some residents during the tour, the Chairman frowned at the persistent cases of indiscriminate refuse dumping, particularly along roadsides and market surroundings, stressing that such actions contribute to blocked drainages, flooding, and unhealthy living conditions. She reiterated her administration’s commitment to environmental cleanliness, urging market men, market women, and residents to take responsibility by using approved waste bins and patronizing accredited LAWMA operators for proper disposal.
“We cannot build the Eti-Osa of our dreams if we continue to deface our environment with indiscriminate dumping of refuse. Together, we must embrace cleanliness as a way of life because a cleaner today means a greener tomorrow,” she said.
The Chairman further assured that her administration will intensify monitoring and enforcement measures on sustainable waste management while also investing in awareness campaigns to educate residents and traders about the ongoing online pre-registration of continuous voter's registration which commenced on Monday 18th of August, 2025. She also informed them about the in-person registration exercise scheduled to commence on Monday 25th of August, 2025.
The Clean and Green Eti-Osa Initiative remains a clarion call to all residents to join hands in building a healthier, safer, and greener Eti-Osa according to her HEYIGA agenda.
