Reports indicate that Ali is now eyeing a Senate seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

According to SaharaReporters, Ali was discharged from service by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, along with several other DIGs, due to allegations of age falsification and breaches of service regulations. Those dismissed DIGs include Dasuki Galandachi, Rhoda Adetutu Olofu, Jonathan Towuru, Suleiman Yusuf, Banji Lawal Badru, and Bala Ciroma.

A reliable source confirmed that Ali has now joined the APC and is set to contest for the Nasarawa South Senatorial seat in 2027.
